APRIL SUN, WILL SERVE UP A PLATTER OF AUSTRALIAN PERFORMERS TO SATISFY THE MANY AND VARIED PALATES OF MELBOURNE MUSIC LOVERS. HELD IN THE GROUNDS OF THE ST KILDA TRIANGLE, ADJACENT TO THE PALAIS THEATRE. WHILE APRIL SUN WILL MAINTAIN COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS, TICKET-HOLDING PATRONS WILL NOW BE ABLE TO ENTER THE SITE IN A GENERAL ADMISSION FASHION, NO PODS, NO ZONES. JUST OLD SCHOOL, FREE FLOW, GENERAL ADMISSION AND A WHOLE LOTTA DANCING!

Where is April Sun being held? 
Held in the grounds of the St Kilda Triangle, Lower Esplanade, St Kilda VIC 3182, directly adjacent to The Palais Theatre. The space will be transformed into a live music venue at one of Australia’s most iconic foreshore locations.

Who will be there? 
Melbourne in all her glory, and any visitors who are lucky enough to be in town.

How do I get there? 
April sun is very easily accessible by train and tram. The closest train station is Balaclava station. April Sun is a short walk from this station.

Two main trams travel to Luna Park, the number 16 and 96 St Kilda. These can be boarded from major city train stations Flinders Street and Southern Cross.

Are tickets refundable? 
In the unlikely event of cancellation due to a change in public health directives, all tickets will be refunded.

Is April Sun Covid safe and approved? 
Yes, this event is fully approved by the relevant authorities. A copy of our Covid Safe plan is available here

CAN WE DANCE? 
We insist that you do, after a year that has had us feeling like we are living in a real-life version of Footloose, with singing and dancing being banned and illegal, it is with extreme excitement that we announce April Sun will be the first large scale general admission event in Victoria since life as we know it was cancelled!

Is it like a real festival from days of old? 
Yes, that’s exactly what we are doing! We deserve it right now!

Where can I park and how will local traffic be affected?

Is it licensed? How much will drinks cost? 
Yes, April Sun is an 18+ licensed event. Drinks cannot be bought into the venue (no byo) but will be on sale at pub prices.

Will there be non-alcoholic beverages? 
Yes, we have you covered. 

Can I bring my kids? 
April Sun is an 18+ event

Can I bring my dog? 
No pets, make sure Fido has a bone before you leave home. 

Will there be food? 
We will have a broad offering of food vendors onsite at all events. The options will vary between events and we have partnered with some of Melbourne’s favourite food trucks to bring you some fantastic food to enjoy during the event. Every attempt is made to ensure all dietary requirements are catered for by the contracted food vendors however if you have a specific dietary requirement it is advised to bring your own food.

Will there be food for gluten-free/ paleo diet/ vegans? 
Yes, the food choices will reflect the dietary requirements of a modern society.

What times does April Sun run? 
Each show has varied run times. Check the individual event pages for more info.

Will there be gate ticket sales? 
Only for shows that are not sold out and with tickets selling fast it’s best not to sleep.

What can I bring/what can’t I bring? 
Please bring yourself, your friends, your dancing shoes and your best vibes and respect for patrons, staff and the amazing opportunity and venue we have been gifted.

Do Not bring: pets, alcohol, weapons, spray cans or sharpies, alcohol or illicit substances, any liquids, bad attitudes, aggressive behaviour or discriminatory attitudes of any type. 

What happens if it’s raining?
Rain, hail or shine we are doing this, bring an umbrella or plastic poncho in your bag, it’s Melbourne folks.

What happens if my show gets cancelled by Covid? 
In the unlikely event of cancellation due to a change in public health directives, all tickets will be refunded. 

Can I smoke at the festival? 
Yes, there will be a smoking area.

Is the event wheelchair accessible? 
There is wheelchair access to the grounds of April sun; we also have wheelchair-accessible toilets available. However, various health and safety requirements do apply to wheelchair guests so it’s always best to check with staff before your visit.
